Visimage training classes are available for all levels of users. Instructors provide a program of learning structured to meet the needs and expectations of each particular class. Attendees leave class with a clear understanding of how to most efficiently use Visimage at the level taught in their chosen courses.

Introduction to Visimage - V101

Course Description:

This exercise-driven course introduces concepts basic to report writing and efficient design. Users try all related features of the Choose a Topic, Define Selection, and Design List tasks.

Length:

Two days

Goal:

Integrate effective use of Visimage for Windows throughout your organization

Objectives:

Navigate the program screens and menus; understand the processing sequence

Choose primary and secondary topic(s)
explore item lists
Write selection criteria
reduce selection time
List , sort , and summarize information
Apply correct syntax, operators, and precedence when writing arithmetic, conditional, and string expressions
Format data to control its appearance
Display and print information
Save contexts
Write run-time parameters to prompt for constants at the time of future executions
Download information for use with another PC application
identify header, detail and total line levels
Stream jobs
Apply the basic concepts and vocabulary of database structure and report writing to analyze reports
Access on-line help to solve problems

Visimage Fundamentals - V120

Course Description:

This accelerated course combines material from the Visimage 101 course with exercises designed to teach the fundamentals of the Design Report task (the sort process and methods of producing totals). Users try all related features of the Choose a Topic, Define Selection, Design List, and Design Report tasks.

Prerequisite:

This course is particularly suited to users with technical or report-writing experience. Requirements arise from the multitude of new concepts rather than from their difficulty.

Length:

Three days

Goal:

Demonstrate all tasks of Visimage for Windows; prepare users to write reports; introduce sophisticated applications.

Objectives:

Choose primary and secondary topic(s)
explore item lists
Write selection criteria
reduce selection time
Display or print a sorted and summarized List
Download information for use with another PC application
Create a job stream
Customize report layout ; merge line levels
Differentiate automatic , semi-automatic and manual totals ; streamline summaries by choosing the appropriate method
Specify conditions for computing
Select, compute, and print with conditional variables
Use global variables to accomplish two data passes within one report and to prompt once for a value that will be used in two tasks

Advanced Features of Visimage - V201

Course Description:

This course emphasizes the following advanced features of report writing: Define Selections efficiently, explore features of the Design Report task, and Define Global Variables.

Prerequisite:

Visimage experience: Completion of Visimage 101 or Visimage 120.

Length:

Two days

Goal:

Prepare experienced users to readily apply sophisticated Visimage solutions to complex reporting problems; prepare resource users to write core reports and to demonstrate Visimage features for other on-site users.

Objectives:

Differentiate features unique to the Design List and Design Report tasks; choose the appropriate task for your needs
Write complex selection criteria; reduce selection time
Customize report layout; merge line levels
Enhance your report with system variables
Differentiate automatic, semi-automatic, and manual totals; streamline summaries by choosing the appropriate method
Relate line levels to processing sequence
Create variables to compute conditionally; use variables in subsequent calculations
Control record selection, computing, and printing with conditional variables
Use global variables to accomplish two data passes within one report; prompt once for a value used in two tasks
Replace multi-conditional variables with arrays
